Loving the outdoors

I LOVE watching Lily play in the backyard by herself. I open the back door and all the shades and watch her entertain herself while I clean the kitchen or (I'll admit it) check my facebook. Sometimes she digs in her sand box but most of the time she drags her baby dolls and every blanket she can find to the back step and sets up her little bed in the sun. I can only imagine how good it must feel to be curled up on a pile of blankets with the suns rays shining down on her. Sometimes she even falls asleep out there. Every once in awhile she runs in and says "here that mommy, AIRPLANE" or "here that mommy, SOPHIE DOG! Sophie saaad" She says Sophie dog is sad because she howls when she hears a siren. The most beautiful part of it all is her innocence and how sweet it is. Watching her talk to herself or babies and not having a care in the world only that her blankies are curled up just the way she likes them.

Can't believe Im confessing this

but it's a funny story. While I was pregnant with Cruz, I would wake up most mornings very tired and not having any interest in making breakfast. Oh, I would also be craving a Mc Donald's ice coffee. So lily and I would pile into the car in our PJ's and head to the nearest Mc Donald's drive thru. Every morning the guy in the window would say "Good Morning" and hand me my ice coffee and a Sausage Mcmuffin (probably why I gained 40 pounds with Cruz). Lily would eat the egg and I would eat the rest. One morning I pulled up to the window and heard the usual "Good Morning" but then all of a sudden from the back seat comes a cute little "Good Morning" from a sleepy and hungry little Lily. For awhile after every time we pulled up to a window, no matter what time of day it was she would say "Good Morning". So the moral of my story is.......Mc Donald's is not only fast and convenient but also educational.

Sweet Babies

Sooooo Cute. Funny how Lily looks like a fragile little girl baby and Cruz looks like a beefy little boy baby.

My serious little man

I remember Lily smiling (at me not just when she tooted) for the first time when she was about 3 weeks old. So when Cruz turned 3 weeks, then 4 and then 5 and had not yet cracked a smile I started to get a little worried. So then finally at 7 weeks old he decides to crack a little half smile and actually it still wasn't at me it was for Lily. I like to think that he is to busy contemplating the world around him to be all smiles just yet. I also learned my first mistake and that is not to compare my children and there milestones. They are two very different little beings.

Short but Sweet

Just a quick note. Most of my blogs for the time being will be fairly short and to the point. I'm having a hard time finding the time to write them. I'm lucky if Cruz naps while Lily does and after we put her to bed around 8 o'clock I'm beat and afraid my entries may not make much sense. This is something I really want to do though and will do my best to keep up.

Inspired to try something new

Today I started our family blog. I was inspired to do so by my fabulous friend Ashley. I can only hope that I create something as beautiful as she has.

My little family has just blossomed into four. There is myself Kristen (or Ten as my husband likes to call me) my husband Jorge, our gorgeous 2 year old Lily and our little moose Cruz who is 6 weeks.
